The purpose of the ICD is to diagnose serious ventricular disorders and treat them. In France, there are some 50,000 sudden deaths that could be prevented by this device.
Who is the DAI for?
According to the SFC (French Society of Cardiology), it is strongly recommended to the following patients to wear an ICD:
- Patients who have already been resuscitated
- Patients with Warning Signs of Severe Heart Rhythm and / or Fatalities
- Patients with heart disease (eg, coronary heart disease, heart muscle disease, genetic or familial heart disease, or no known cause.
