Closing of the inter-auricular communication (AIC)
What’s the point ?
The 2 atria are separated by a septum called the Interauricular Septum (AIS). Normally, this partition is closed at birth or may sometimes have a small opening called Foramen Ovale.
In some cases, there is still inter-atrial communication (AIC) detected in childhood or sometimes in adulthood. This CIA can be responsible for vascular accidents, poor oxygenation of the blood or heart failure. It can be closed either surgically or by non-surgical endovascular closure.
Care available abroad
Coronary angioplasty is a method of myocardial revascularization. The heart is a muscle nourished by arteries: the coronary arteries. If one or more of your coronary arteries are clogged, it is best to unclog them. Coronary angioplasty involves placing a balloon sliding on a metal guide in narrowed positions. This balloon is inflated to dilate the artery and then deflated and removed. In some cases, a prosthesis (stent) may be put in place. The prosthesis is a wire mesh that is plated on the wall of the artery and left in place permanently. Other instruments, such as a Rotablator can be used.
